And you join in, because you look at your friends, your family, and you KNOW that you love them. You KNOW that extra toe, those lopsided tits, that goofy smile endears them to your very heart and that you would have them no other way. And you KNOW, the mantra is true. For them. Or you desperately want it to be. Because you don't want them to feel, the way that you do.

Because in your own mind there is that scratching, gnawing, tip-tip-tapping ghost of a voice that whispers "everyone but you". You see the great efforts that others go to, concealing or enhancing random pounds of flesh on their bodies. You see the magazines that they buy, the movies they watch. You hear the jokes that they tell. You experience the constant, relentless, ACTIONS they take that undermine the words. So that the mantra becomes a bludgeon, an accusation; "Don't you know, we're all lovely - get over yourself".

Everything we see, everything we do, informs us more than mere words carried flimsily on the lightest of breaths. "Everyone is beautiful, but let me just adjust my armour underwear".

Telling people they must love themselves in a world stuffed full of fantasy body ideals is at best hypocritical. At worst, victim blaming.

People are judged more by the things that we do than by the things that we say. True belief is expressed by doing not preaching. Which is why on The Small Penis Bible website I've included links through to our body-positive nude art works. Show not Tell.
